Grading/Gradebook
The Gradebook Help Center: Here's a guide we created that contains links to all of our important gradebook help guides! However, there are over 30 guides linked there, so here are some heavy hitters to highlight:
Canvas PSA: Don't leave work ungraded! This resource highlights why timely grading matters and shows how to set Canvas to automatically assign zeros for missing assignments after the due date. This saves faculty time while giving students immediate, accurate feedback on how missing work affects their grade.
A more accurate gradebook also means more reliable risk data in Dropout Detective, allowing advisors and other SPC staff to intervene earlier and coordinate more effective student support.
How do I view concluded enrollments in a course in Canvas? If you drop a student for non-attendance during week 2 and they claim they did all the first week work and shouldn't have been dropped, this guide has you covered. It shows you how to quickly verify their activity in the course that first week so you can resolve the issue.
Incomplete Process
This section explains the required steps and processes involved in managing course incompletes.
-
Incomplete Process Tutorial: Step-by-Step: This is your go to, step-by-step guide outlining every piece of the incomplete process. Each step has clear instructions, links to a more detailed guide, and features short, video demos.
-
Note: Opening a course for a student with an incomplete when the student was dropped and not re-added before the course ended:
If a student was dropped in PeopleSoft and the term has already ended, you won't be able to add them to the incomplete section of the course. In this scenario, please:- Reenroll the student in PeopleSoft.
- Reach out to ATST via the ATST form to ask us to place the student in the Incomplete section of the Canvas course.

Tech Tip Tuesdays
Did you know that we create short video demos based on questions we get frequently from faculty? Do your faculty know? Every Tuesday, a new one is released in the Faculty Support Group in the SPC Titan Hub. Please help us by sharing the Tech Tip Tuesday landing page in Faculty Support (and encourage bookmarking) as well as individual videos that you think your faculty will find valuable. We would also love suggestions for future videos, from you and/or your faculty!
