Incomplete Step 5: Recalculate the Student's Final Grade
Summary: Step five takes place after the student has submitted all of the remaining work for the incomplete, at which time you'll recalculate their final grade.
Even though the course has ended, you still have access to the Gradebook in Canvas. You can enter scores directly into the Gradebook to calculate the student’s updated grade. Just type the student’s new grades into the gradebook, make sure they save, and view the updated final grade. You can also track the incomplete student's grades manually, on a spreadsheet for instance, but we recommend using the Gradebook.
Incomplete Step 6: Submit SPC Grade Change Form
Summary: Once the student has completed all outstanding work and you’ve recalculated their final grade—either using the Canvas Gradebook or manually—you’ll need to submit the official grade change form. You cannot use Canvas to change an incomplete grade to an A-F grade. You must submit this form.
