Canvas now displays a small dot next to grades in the Gradebook when they are hidden from students. This dot provides a quick visual way to confirm which grades are not yet visible.

How to Hide an Assignment Column

  1. Go to the Gradebook.

  2. Click the Gear icon

  3. Select View Options
    Select "View Hidden Grades Indicator"
    Click Apply Settings
    This Enables the new feature!

  4. Click on the three-dot menu on the Assignment column you want to hide.

  5. Select Hide grades.
     
  6. A dot will appear next to each grade in the column, confirming they are hidden from students.

How to Make Grades Visible Again

  1.  in the Gradebook. Click the three-dot menu again.

  2. Select Post grades.
     
  3. Select Everyone or Graded.

  4. Select Post
  5. The dots will disappear, showing that grades are now visible to students.

Note: Hiding a column only affects visibility for students. Instructors always see all grades in the Gradebook.
