How to set Default Copyleaks Scan Settings for an Entire Course

Instructors can now apply course-wide Copyleaks scan settings without editing each new assignment. This guide demonstrates how to utilize this new feature.

Step-by-Step

  1. Navigate to your course, and locate an assignment for which you'd like to enable Copyleaks' plagiarism and/or AI scanning. Select Edit to access the assignment settings.
    select edit
  2. Configure the Copyleaks scan settings however you see fit.
  3. Navigate to the second assignment in your course for which you'd like to enable Copyleaks' plagiarism and/or AI scanning. Select Edit to access the assignment settings.
    select edit
  4. In the Assignment settings, scroll down to Plagariam Review and confirm that Copyleaks Plagiarism Checker is selected from the dropdown menu (1). Then, select the Advanced Settings button at the bottom of the Plagiarism Review area (2).
    select advanced settings
  5. The Advanced Settings will open in a new window. In the bottom right corner of that new window, above the Save Settings button, there will now be the option to check a box to Apply settings for the whole course. Check the box next to Apply settings for the whole course (1) and select Save Settings (2) to apply the current assignment's Copyleaks settings to all Copyleaks-enabled assignments in the course.
check the "apply settings for the whole course" box then select save settings.

Notes:

  • This will override previous Copyleaks settings.
  • This will also set the default settings for any new Copyleaks-enabled assignments that you setup (although you will of course still be able to edit).
  • This will not effect previously created assignments that were not Copyleaks-enabled at the time you selected to Apply settings for the whole course.
