Introduction
This article guides faculty at St. Petersburg College on how to print a student's grades in a course to a PDF or hardcopy. This works for students that are currently enrolled in your course, as well as for students who were dropped from your course. This guide demonstrates how to print student grades in both scenarios.

How to Print Grades for a Student
- Navigate to the course in Canvas.

Select People from the course navigation (1). Select one student. You can select a student by clicking on their profile photo (2) or their hyperlinked name (3).
Note: You can also select the student's hyperlinked name from the Gradebook.
- The student's information panel will open. Select the Grades button to open the Student Context Card screen.
- In the Student Context Card screen, navigate to the Arrange By dropdown menu. Select the arrow (1), select if you'd like to arrange the student's grades by assignment group, due date, module or name (2), and select Apply (3).
- Once you've arranged your grades by assignment group, due date, module or name, you'll see all the assignments for the course. Scroll to view all of the grades.
- In the Student Grades screen, select the Print Grades button in the top right corner.
- The Print window will pop up. Follow the directions to either print a hard copy of the student's grades to a printer, or save as a PDF to attach it to a Canvas inbox message or Microsoft Office 365 email message. Browsers vary, but here are Google Chrome Save as PDF instructions, as this is the browser we recommend:

- Select the down arrow next to Destination to open the different destinations to which you can print the document.
- Select Save as PDF from the dropdown menu.

Select Save. Then, the document will be saved as a PDF and you're able to attach it to a Canvas Inbox message or a Microsoft Outlook 365 message.
How to Print Grades for a Prior Enrolled Student
- Navigate to the course in Canvas.
- Select People from the course navigation (1).
- In the top right corner, click the ellipses, and then select View Prior Enrollments
- This brings you to the People > Prior Users screen. If there’s no number for Total (1), that means the student hadn’t handed in anything when they were dropped. If there’s a number (2), click on it and you can see the full Grades report at the time they were dropped, including when they handed each assignment in.

Navigate to the Arrange By dropdown menu. Select the arrow (1), select if you'd like to arrange the student's grades by assignment group, due date, module or name (2), and select Apply (3).
- Once you've arranged your grades by assignment group, due date, module or name, you'll see all the assignments for the course. Scroll to view all of the grades. The Total grade in the top right corner (1) shows the student's grade at the time he/she was dropped.
- In the Student Grades screen, select the Print Grades button in the top right corner.
- The Print window will pop up. Follow the directions to either print a hard copy of the student's grades to a printer, or save as a PDF to attach it to a Canvas inbox message or Microsoft Office 365 email message.
