Note: SPC has two duplicated roles that work outside of our SIS automated processes.

  • Teacher – Added: for faculty co-teaching or mentoring but not officially listed in the course.
  • Student – Added: for tech trouble shooting the student access (publisher content for example).

SPC has the following Canvas Course Roles with a comparison table of permissions and access from most (Teacher) to least access (Tutor).

Note: All roles can view Announcements and Discussions.

  • The Reviewer role has access to these two features and View Student Groups.

You can assign the Reviewer role in the original course. Then, the adjunct—assigned as a Teacher, Coordinator, or TA in their own course—can copy the materials into their own course.
