Copyleaks Troubleshooting (D2L Only): What to Do if Your Assignments Are worth More Than 100 Points

This guide will explain how to manage the grading of assignments that are connected to the Copyleaks Plagiarism tool that are worth more than 100 points. 

Many instructors have assignments worth more than 100 points and inside Copyleaks the maximum amount of points that can be assigned to an assignment is 100. 

Therefore, you will need to do the following steps to work around this.

Step 1: 

Set up the assignment inside Copyleaks. 

Step 2: 

Grade all of the assignments inside Copyleaks out of 100 even if the final grade will be higher than 100 points. 

Step 3: 

Click on Grades inside D2L/MyCourses and make sure you are on the Manage Grades section vs Enter Grades and find the assignment title that is really worth more than 200 points and click Edit

Step 4: 

Scroll down to the Grading/Maximum Points area and edit the number of maximum points possible then click Save & Close

You will see this alert appear - click Yes.

**This means that you will need to manually enter the true grade the student earned out of the new points possible amount.**

 

Step 5:

Now you will need to return back to your Gradebook and find the assignment you just edited the points on. Select it and click Enter Grades

Step 6: 

Then you will have to use your Math skills to determine the new point amount out of the new point value. Type it inside the box and click Save and Close when you are done to save your changes. 

Note: This is also a place you can enter feedback to your students.
