Screencast-o-Matic screen capture application in Canvas

Overview

The Screencast-O-Matic screen capture application, allows faculty to record their computer screen, webcam, or both directly through Canvas Studio. Use it to create video lectures, software demonstrations, tutorials, and other instructional materials.

Note: The screen capture application is a legacy option available with Canvas Plus and Canvas Next. Faculty using Chrome or Edge should use the built-in Studio Capture option when available.

⚠️Accessibility Note to Faculty: We highly recommend for you to NOT use the Draw or Write features in the Screencast-O-Matic screen capture tool. These features do not function correctly and to ensure students can access and view instructional videos without problems, we recommend avoiding these features when creating screen captures.
