Effective December 15, 2025, we will officially transition from the old faculty pages application to the new, SPC Instructor page system. This guide explains how faculty members can edit their instructor pages. 

Note: The new instructor page is a completely separate system from the old one. If you want to copy/paste your bio from the old faculty pages system, you'll need to access your info in the old faculty page system so you can copy/paste.

How to Edit your Instructor Page

  1. Navigate to your Instructor Page:
    • Navigate to SPC's Instructor page.
    • Select the first letter of your last name.

    • Select your name from the Instructors List.

  2. Edit your instructor page:
    • Scroll down and select the Edit Instructor button at the bottom to begin editing your instructor page. 
      Note: Even if you are already logged into your SPC account, you will need to login again.

    • Make edits in the Edit Instructor screen. Only the fields instructors have access to edit will populate in this screen, including:
      • Title (1): Your SPC job title
      • Office: Building (2) and room number (3)
      • Alt phone (4): If you have a second phone that you'd like to provide to students, type it here.
      • Office Schedule (5): Share your office hours.
      • Tutoring Summary (6): Make sure to check the "Enable Tutoring Hours Section" checkbox to make this show if you're adding tutoring hours, and if you're not, simple leave the box unchecked and the text box blank).
      • Biography (7): Brief biography.
      • OPTIONAL Embed Video HTML (8): Some faculty have video introductions that they may embed here. See: Embedding a Panopto Video
      • Profile photo (9): Select Browse to select a profile photo from your device.

        Make sure to press the Save Changes button (7) when you're finished.

Update Instructor Page Links

Update link everywhere else in Canvas

Starting on December 15, 2025, the About Your Instructor information on Canvas course homepages will be pulled from the new system. However, if you have your instructor page linked anywhere else in Canvas (for instance, in a Begin Here module), then you'll need to update the link: How to edit or remove hyperlinks in the RCE (Rich Content Editor) in Canvas

Update Link in Simple Syllabus

  1. Select Simple Syllabus inside your Canvas Course on the course navigation.

  2. Select the Edit button to begin making changes to your Syllabus. 
  3. Navigate to the Instructor Contact Information section and select the pencil button to edit.

  4. Paste your new instructor page URL in the text box under Instructor Web Page (1) and select Save (2).

  5. Select the Publish button to publish changes to your Syllabus.

Other Information about your Instructor Page

  • Course Info (1) will link to your classes on the SPC website (2).

  • Syllabus Links: If you've published your syllabi, selecting the individual syllabus links (3) will route to those syllabi on the the SPC Simple Syllabus site. You don't need to do anything but make sure your Syllabi are published.
