Simple Syllabus: Enable or Disable Visibility on the MyCourses Navigation Bar

The first time you visit a new course in your MyCourses account, a pop-up prompt will appear asking you if you wish to enable or disable the Simple Syllabus tab on your course navigation bar.

If you initially disabled Simple Syllabus but would like the tab back, or, if you visit a course and do not see the Syllabus tab on the course navbar, please follow the steps below.

(Simple Syllabus is currently only required for General Education classes AND classes using Respondus LockDown Browser/Respondus Monitor unless you have been directed to use SS by your department.)

Note: Only instructors listed in PeopleSoft for that course will be able to enable or disable this tab.

Step-by-Step Initial Visit to a Course: 

1. The first time you visit a course, you will be prompted with a pop-up:

    
   
   

2. Selecting “Yes” in the Simple Syllabus pop-up will cause your course to display as follows:
   
   
   
   
3. Selecting “No” in the Simple Syllabus pop-up will cause your course to display as follows:
   
   
   
   

Step By Step - Switch The Syllabus Tab On or Off After the Initial Visit: 

1. If at any point you would like to switch the Simple Syllabus setting, you can do so in Faculty Tools under the More tab.
   
   

2. Click Simple Syllabus
   
   

3. The pop-up will appear again and you can select whether to enable or disable. The screen will refresh. 
   
   
   NOTE: As this is a new tool, you MAY need to clear your cache and cookies in order to have the tool appear properly.
