When you hide content in a module, students may still be able to access the Dropboxes, quizzes, and discussions in the module can still be accessed. See the explanation below.
Setting content to hidden means the content is hidden from the student's view. It is important to understand how setting a module or item as hidden on course content relates to the Submission Review area. Setting the entire module to hidden will make all the contents within the module hidden from the students' view within the Course Content area.
However, any discussions, dropboxes, or quizzes that are contained in the module will still be accessible to the student via the Submission Review area. Consequently, it is a good idea to make each individual discussion topic, dropbox, and quiz also set to hidden.
