Adding Content from the Learning Object Repository

The Learning Object Repository is a group of learning content items available to you. You can search the learning object repository and easily add these items to your own course. These objects can be modules, images, links to a website, or even a bank of quiz questions.


Step-by-Step: 

  1. Click on Course Content on the Navbar

  2. Click on the Module that you wish to add content

  3. Click on New

  4. Click on  Add Object from LOR

  5. There are three different options to search for an object:

    a. Type in keywords to find an object. As you type in the keywords, you will be given choices. These choices will also show you how many items are associated with the keywords.

    b. Click on Advanced Search, this will allow you to refine your search based on a number of criteria.

    c. Browse by Category allows you to view the objects based on the Author, Publisher, Course, or Repository.

  6. Click on Search (You will see several items in Search Results depending on how you searched)

  7. The icons next to each object indicate the type of object. For example, indicates that the object is a lesson. Whereas, indicates a word document. By default, your search results will be displayed by the date in descending order that the object was added to the Learning Object Repository)

  8. Click on the radio button next to the object you wish to insert into your course

  9. Click on Next

  10. You will have three choices:
    • Dynamic Link to Newest Version (Recommended) - Create a link that always points to the newest version of this learning object.
    • Locked Link to This Version - Create a link that always points to the specified version of the learning object.
    • Copy as Content - Create a copy of the learning object in your content.  This method keeps the navigational structure of the object intact.

  11. Click on Next

  12. Click on Create Topic
