Quick SParC, built within Faculty Tools on your course home page, is a way to send a student(s) a SParC (text) quickly. In this tab there is no filtering, this is designed for you to access the SParC screen without all the extra steps.

Note: new Features have been added, see below!

Step-by-Step:

  1. Click on Quick SParC on Faculty Tools in your course.

  2. Click Add to Text Msg for all students you wish to send a SparC to.

  3. Type your SParC message (Text).  There is a 320 Character limit for each message you send. A Preview of the message will appear to the right of the input window.

Note: It will show you an example of what the students will receive on their devices.

    • Important - The SParC tool functions on an “opt-out” basis for students, and as such is subject to some restrictions. Additionally, overuse of the SParC tool may significantly increase the number of students who choose to “opt-out” of the platform, thereby reducing its usefulness. As such, we request that faculty limit SParC messages to information important/critical to a student’s academic success or of a time-sensitive nature.

Note: At the bottom of the message a "DO NOT REPLY!" message will be added.

      New Feature!
Students who have opted out of SparC text messaging can now see SparC Messages sent to the entire class list in their course Home page, Student Tools under The Missed Texts tab. There is now a button to add all students to the text message. Be aware students can only see the Missed Text Tab on their student Tools if the instructor messages the entire class list!
