One or more students can be exempted from a specific assignment in a course. Exempting a student means that the points for that assignment do not factor into the student's overall grade and therefore do not positively or negatively impact the student's grade.


Step-by-Step: Exempt Students from an Assignment/Grade Item

  1. Click on Grades in the Navbar
  2. Click on the dropdown arrow dropdown example.png  next to the grade item you want to exempt from a student(s)
  3. Click Enter Grades 
  4. Check the box next to the student(s) you would like to exempt
  5. Click on Exempt exempt.png located at the top of the list (Exempt will appear next to the grade item for that student(s))


Step-by-Step: Unexempt a student from a Grade Item

  1. Click on Grades in the Navbar
  2. Click on the dropdown arrow dropdown example.png next to the grade item you want to unexempt a student(s) from
  3. Click Enter Grades
  4. Check the box next to the student(s) you would like to unexempt
  5. Click on Unexempt unexempt.png located at the top of the list (The exempt will disappear and you will not be able to enter a grade)
