One or more students can be exempted from a specific assignment in a course. Exempting a student means that the points for that assignment do not factor into the student's overall grade and therefore do not positively or negatively impact the student's grade.
Step-by-Step: Exempt Students from an Assignment/Grade Item
- Click on Grades in the Navbar
- Click on the dropdown arrow next to the grade item you want to exempt from a student(s)
- Click Enter Grades
- Check the box next to the student(s) you would like to exempt
- Click on Exempt located at the top of the list (Exempt will appear next to the grade item for that student(s))
Step-by-Step: Unexempt a student from a Grade Item
- Click on Grades in the Navbar
- Click on the dropdown arrow next to the grade item you want to unexempt a student(s) from
- Click Enter Grades
- Check the box next to the student(s) you would like to unexempt
- Click on Unexempt located at the top of the list (The exempt will disappear and you will not be able to enter a grade)
