Calculation Options Settings: These determine how the course's gradebook will be calculated.
Step-by-Step:
- Click on Grades on the Navbar
- Click on Settings
- Select the Calculation Options tab from the settings options.
Calculation Options Settings: These determine how the course's gradebook will be calculated.
- Grading System
- Under the 'weighted' system, grade categories are assigned a weight as a percentage of the final grade, and grade items are assigned a weight as a percentage of their parent category (or of the final grade if they have no parent category).
- Under the 'points' system, items are given a worth of points. Categories are then weighted by the sum of the points of their child items and the final grade becomes the total number of points of all the items.
- Under the 'formula' system items are given a worth in points and then a custom -defined formula determines how they contribute to the calculated final grade.
- Final Grade Released
- the values in the Calculated Grade field is released to users as their Final Grade.
- the value in the Adjusted Grade field is released to users as their Final Grade.
- Grade Calculations
- this setting excludes ungraded items from the calculation of grades.
- this setting assigns a value of 0 as the points received for all ungraded items.
- When any change is made that affects the final grade calculations the final calculated grade will recalculate automatically.
