Adding Bonus Grade Items to Points Gradebook – Scenario 1 – Bonus Item in Category

Step-by-Step: 

1. Click on Grades on the Navbar
2. Click on New
3. Click on Item
4. Click on Numeric
5. Enter a Title/Name for the Bonus Grade Item
6. Under Category, select the category you wish to place the grade item
   
   
   
7. Under Maximum Points, enter total possible points for the bonus item
   
   
   
8. Check the box Can Exceed
   
   
   
9. Check the box Bonus 
   
   
   
10. Click on Save and Close (You will now see your Bonus/Extra Credit item in the category with a star next to the grade item)
11. Check the boxes next to  Category Title/Name, Current Overall Grade, and the Grade to Submit to MySPC
12. Scroll to the top of the gradebook, click on Bulk Edit 
    
    
    
13. Under the Can Exceed column, check the box for all three grade items
    
    
    
14. Click on Save
