Creating a Group Dropbox After Groups have been Created


If you have already created your groups and would like to now set up group Dropboxes for each group, you can follow this guide. This process is done in the groups area and only works for the first group dropbox assignment you set up for these groupings. 

NOTE: A group dropbox allows each student enrolled in the group to upload files unless you change the submission options.


  1. Click on Communicate  on the Navbar
  2. Click on Groups
  3. Under View Categories, click on the drop-down arrow and select Group

  4. Click on the drop-down arrow next to the Group name

  5. Click on Edit Category
  6. Click the checkbox next to Set up Dropbox folders

  7. Click on Save
  8. Enter a Name for the Dropbox Folder (Similar to the Group Category Title)
  9. Enter Instructions
  10. Add to Gradebook:

    1. Enter Score Out of

    2. Select Grade Item or Click on New Grade Item to create a new one.

  11. Click on Create
  12. Click on Done
  13. Click on Save (To add Turnitin or edit other properties, go to the Dropboxes under submission review, dropbox)
  14. You will see the group icon group icon.png next to the Dropbox, to indicate it is a group Dropbox

If you want to set up a Second Group Dropbox for these Groups

For the second group Dropbox, you will create the group Dropbox in the Dropbox area under submission review. Once you click Dropboxes, click New Dropbox. Then when you are in the Dropbox creation page, click these options
