Canvas Credentials Setup Process

Introduction
This guide outlines the process for setting up badges/credentials in Canvas. Moving forward, St. Petersburg College is implementing stricter oversight of badges/credentials, as they are now public-facing and represent SPC as an institution. This marks a change from previous procedures, and we appreciate your cooperation as we transition to this new process.

Step-by-Step

  1. Access the Credentials Tool
    1. Log in to Canvas and navigate to your course.
    2. Under Third-Party Tools, locate Credentials.
    3. Hover over Credentials and click the hyperlinked word "request" to open the Canvas Credentials Survey.



       

  2. Complete the Survey
    1. Fill out the survey with as much detail as possible.
    2. If applicable, email copies of badges used in MyCourses to atst@spcollege.edu.
  3. Review Process
    1. Once submitted, your request will undergo review.
    2. You will be notified whether the badge is approved or denied.
  4. If Approved
    1. You will receive a follow-up form to provide details for badge creation.
