This guide lists important surveys for faculty at SPC.
Important Surveys:
- Merge Course Request
-
Course Copy Request Before you submit the Course Copy Request, know that you can do this yourself (Canvas Course Copy Instructions).
▶IMPORTANT: Selective Course Copy Instructions
As faculty begin preparing their Summer courses, we strongly encourage the use of Canvas’s Selective Import (Selective Copy) process when copying content from a previous course.
Rather than copying an entire course, selective copy allows faculty to choose only the specific content they plan to use, providing greater control over course setup.
We recommend doing a Selective Course Copy with everything except Files. This leaves old files behind. Files that are connected to your Modules will still copy over, but old files that aren't used will not. This will help ensure that your course is accessible and that you're not accidentally bringing over inaccessable files from previous semesters.
Selective Import Instructions:
- Navigate to Settings, then select Import Course Contents.
- Select Copy a Canvas Course (1), input the course you'd like to import (2), choose the Select Specific Content option (3), and then select the +Add to Import Queue button (4).
- Refresh your page, and then scroll down to the Course Imports. The import you just started will be at the top of the list. Select the Select Content button.
- In the Select Content Import box, select Modules and anything else you’d like to import, but do NOT select Files.
- Wait until the import has finished, and then continue working on setting up your course.
- Course Reset Request Before you submit this, know that if a new course is copied into your course, it will overwrite the existing content.
- Grade Change Request
- Incomplete Request Form
- Camtasia Software Request Form
- Canvas Community Request Form
- Request a Titan Hub Group
Do you want to create an online community for a group of students?
Titan Hub (Pathify) Groups are for student clubs, organizations, and groups that foster engagement and extracurricular involvement. Appropriate uses include student government and interest-based clubs, leadership/mentorship programs, community service and career-focused groups, and athletic and recreational groups.
To request: Submit the Titan Hub Group Request survey.
Canvas Communities are designed for academic groups supporting teaching, learning, and faculty collaboration. Appropriate uses include: Faculty/staff learning communities, discipline-specific discussion groups, course development teams, academic support services, and department or faculty-driven student success initiatives.
To request: Submit the Canvas Communities Request survey.
Key considerations when deciding to use Titan Hub (Pathify) Groups or Canvas Communities:
- Social or extracurricular groups go in Titan Hub. Academic groups may be in Canvas or Titan Hub, depending on which tools they're planning to use with students.
- If you don't require the Canvas tools (modules, assignments, quizzes) then you likely need a Titan Hub group for your students.
- Mixed groups will be reviewed for appropriate placement.
- Canvas is not for social or non-academic groups. Titan Hub is not for academic coursework.
