This guide reviews adding ALT tags to images in MyCourses. Anytime you add a photo to a course, whether it be a course banner, within an announcement, or within a file in a module, an Alternative Text Tag should be added.
Step-by-Step:
- Click on the Insert Image icon on the HTML Editor Tool Bar
- Locate the picture you wish to upload
- Click on Add
- You will see a popup window: Enter an Alternative Text for your photo (You will need to add an ALT Text for any type of image)
- If you dragged and dropped the image, click the image after you have placed it in MyCourses. You will see a small toolbar of options appear below or above the photo
- Click the small icon of a photo to edit photo options
- Add your alternative description (a descriptive sentence)
Writing good ALT tags takes practice. You want to be short and concise, but also descriptive in your text.
